How do you attach it?
Clip the metal clips onto both sides of the pram's edge or bar, so the chain hangs taut across the pram. Hang it so your baby can see it well, but not in their face. About a forearm's length away is comfortable: close enough to see and later tap, far enough not to disturb. Swap or move the chain now and then, so it stays new and interesting for your baby.
Using it safely
- Only under supervision: use the chain when you are with your baby, for example during a walk.
- Firmly attached: check that both clips are secure and the chain does not sag.
- Remove in time: take the chain off as soon as your baby can sit, pushes up on hands and knees or tries to pull up on it.
- Check regularly: make sure all parts, cords and clips are still intact.
- Not during sleep: remove the chain when your baby sleeps in the pram or crib.
Which age?
From birth your baby mainly looks at contrasts and bright colours. Around 2 to 3 months the eyes follow moving things better, and from about 3 to 4 months your baby tries to grab and tap the figures. That is exactly when a pram chain is most fun. Once your baby sits up, it is time for other toys.
