A whole sandwich, a whole apple and a pot of yoghurt, all neatly separated: with the b.box lunchboxes for girls you pack a varied lunch without loose tubs. At Tiny Giggles you choose from two models by b.box: the Lunchbox for children from 5 years and the compact MINI Lunchbox from 3 years. Each model comes in eleven cheerful colours and prints, including two with Hello Kitty. Below you can read which model suits your daughter's age and appetite.
The b.box lunchboxes for girls: Lunchbox or MINI?
- b.box Lunchbox (5+ years): 23.5 x 21.5 x 6.5 cm, 2 litre capacity, weight 0.47 kg. With a gel cooler, a large compartment for a whole sandwich or bagel, an adjustable divider and a whole-fruit compartment.
- b.box MINI Lunchbox (3+ years): 18.5 x 17 x 6.7 cm, 1 litre capacity. With a flexible fruit compartment, two leak-proof compartments and a sliding divider. Fits in a b.box lunch bag.
Both are made of polypropylene and silicone and have a carry handle and a large clip that opens easily.
The b.box Lunchbox for school children
The large Lunchbox has a compartment that fits a whole sandwich, bagel or roll. Under that sandwich tray sits an included gel cooler that keeps food cool and fresh for longer. Take the tray out and the compartment holds pasta or salad too. With the adjustable divider you change the size of the compartments, or remove it for a whole banana or wrap. The whole-fruit compartment has stretchy seals, so you don't have to cut fruit into small pieces.
The b.box MINI for little eaters
The MINI has the same clever ideas, but more compact for a smaller appetite. The flexible fruit compartment stretches around large fruit. Two compartments seal separately and leak-proof, for wet food such as purée, yoghurt and dips. With the sliding divider you make the compartments bigger or smaller. At 1 litre, it's ideal for toddlers, preschoolers and the morning break.
Which model for which age?
- From 3 years: the MINI, for daycare, playgroup or reception.
- From 5 years: the Lunchbox, for a full school lunch.
- Small appetite: an older child can also manage fine with the MINI.
- Big appetite or long day: choose the Lunchbox with 2 litres.
Eleven colours and prints
Both models come in almost the same colours, so sisters of different ages can choose matching boxes:
- Pink shades: Blush Crush, Flamingo Fizz and Strawberry Shake (pink/orange).
- Yellow: Lemon Sherbet and Lemon Twist.
- Green: Emerald Forest, and for the MINI also Spearmint.
- Purple and lilac: Lilac Pop (lilac/green), and for the MINI also Passion Splash (purple/green).
- Combinations: Feeling Peachy (blue/peach) and Indigo Rose (indigo/pink).
- Hello Kitty (Lunchbox): Fashionista (pink/mint) and Get Social (pink/grey).
Leak-proof, but not for drinks
The silicone seals keep wet food, such as watermelon and yoghurt, in its own compartment. They're not meant for liquids. Drinks go in a bottle, for example from the b.box bottles for girls. The seals are removable so you can clean them thoroughly.
Opening it herself
The handle and large clip are designed to open easily, even for small fingers. That way your daughter can open her lunchbox herself at break time, without help from the teacher. Practise a few times at home and it'll work at school by itself.
How to fill a b.box
- Large compartment: a sandwich, wrap or pasta salad.
- Fruit compartment: a whole apple, mandarin or pear.
- Leak-proof compartments: yoghurt, apple sauce or hummus.
- Small compartments: cucumber, cherry tomatoes or a few crackers.
For sisters of different ages
Because the MINI and the Lunchbox come in almost the same colours, they're handy for sisters of different ages. The youngest gets a MINI in Flamingo Fizz, the eldest a Lunchbox in the same colour. That way both have a box that suits their appetite, and still a matching set. In the morning, everyone knows straight away which box is whose.
Keeping it cool
Put the Lunchbox's gel cooler in the freezer overnight and slide it under the sandwich tray in the morning. According to the manufacturer, the Lunchbox is freezer-safe. For extra cooling, put the box in an insulated lunch bag. See the lunch bags for girls.
Cleaning
Remove the seals and wash all parts by hand. Let everything dry well before putting the seals back. That keeps the box fresh. According to the manufacturer, the Lunchbox is meant for hand washing.
Material
The boxes are made of polypropylene and silicone. The Lunchbox is free of BPS, PVC, BPA and phthalates.
