Bento comes from Japan, where lunch is traditionally packed in a box with several compartments. A bento box therefore has fixed or adjustable compartments. How do you choose the right box?
- Age: for toddlers and preschoolers a smaller box with an easy clip is best, such as the b.box MINI. Older children need more room.

Ideas for a bento lunch
Vary colours and shapes. Think of a wholemeal sandwich cut into strips, a mini wrap, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and pepper, grapes (halved lengthways for young children), a piece of cheese and a spoonful of hummus or yoghurt. Let your son help choose and pack: children prefer to eat what they picked themselves.
Fresh and cool
