Carl Oscar

Carl Oscar is a Swedish family business that makes clever lunch boxes, snack boxes and drink bottles for children. The products are practical, built to last and feature cheerful animal prints: a monkey, a moose, a cow, a giraffe, a spider, a dolphin, a camel or a panda. At Tiny Giggles you will find the N'ice Box with ice pack, the BentoBox, the Sandwich Box, the SnackDisc and BentoDisc and matching drink bottles. Below you can read what makes each product special and how to make a complete set.

The Carl Oscar lunch boxes

• N'ice Lunch Box Kids: a leak-proof lunch box with an ice pack in the lid. Put the ice pack flat in the freezer for at least 8 hours and click it into the lid: that way the lunch stays cool for up to about 5 hours. It comes with a small container with lid for vegetables, fruit or dip, and the CUTElery multi-cutlery clicks into the lid. About 12.5 x 17 x 6.3 cm, with easy-to-open clips. Available with a monkey, moose, cow, giraffe or spider.
• BentoBox Kids: a lunch box with three separate compartments, for children who prefer to keep their food apart. Also with CUTElery multi-cutlery in the lid and a leak-proof lid with clips. About 18.3 x 15.3 x 5.7 cm, with a dolphin, camel or panda.
• Sandwich Box Kids: a light sandwich box of about 80 grams, made in one piece with a hinged lid, so there are no loose parts to lose. About 14.5 x 13.8 x 5.3 cm, with a monkey, cow or giraffe.

All lunch boxes are free of BPA and phthalates and suitable from about 3 years.

SnackDisc and BentoDisc

The SnackDisc is a round, rotating snack box with five compartments: one large and four small. Everything sits in its own compartment, so nothing gets mixed up. Ideal for pieces of fruit, vegetables, cheese, crackers or raisins. The SnackDisc is about 15 cm across and available with eight different animals. The BentoDisc works the same way but is bigger, about 18 cm, so a small lunch fits inside. Both come completely apart and are dishwasher safe up to 65 degrees.

The Carl Oscar drink bottles

• Drink bottle 350 ml: a light, leak-proof Tritan bottle with a handy carry handle. Thanks to the double twist opening, you can easily add ice cubes or pieces of fruit. A nice size for young children.
• Water bottle 500 ml: a leak-proof bottle of 18/8 stainless steel with a flip-up spout and a stainless steel straw, so your child can drink with the bottle upright. A brush to clean the straw is included. With a dolphin, camel or panda.

You will find more drink bottles from other brands under water bottles and all types under bottles.

A complete set with the same animal

The great thing about Carl Oscar is that the lunch box, snack box and drink bottle are often available with the same animal. That way your child has, for example, a complete set with the giraffe, the monkey or the cow. Not only does it look great, your child also recognises their own things straight away among those of classmates. You will find the sets by theme under Carl Oscar lunch boxes for boys and for girls, and the bottles under Carl Oscar bottles for boys and for girls.

Carl Oscar school kit

Which one suits your child?

• Lunch that needs to stay cool: the N'ice Box with ice pack, ideal for yoghurt, cheese or fruit on warm days.
• Picky eaters: the BentoBox with three compartments, so nothing touches.
• Just sandwiches: the light Sandwich Box.
• Snacks: the SnackDisc, or the larger BentoDisc for a small lunch.

Cleaning

The containers of the N'ice Box, BentoBox and Sandwich Box can go on the top rack of the dishwasher. The N'ice Box containers can also go in the microwave, but the ice pack cannot. The SnackDisc and BentoDisc come completely apart and are dishwasher safe up to 65 degrees. Wash the stainless steel water bottle by hand so the print stays nice; it must not go in the oven, microwave or freezer. Let everything dry well before closing it again.

Tips for a healthy lunch

A lunch box with compartments makes it easy to offer variety: a sandwich, some vegetables such as cucumber or cherry tomatoes, a piece of fruit and something small like a few crackers. Children often eat better when food looks colourful and tidy. Let your child help fill the lunch box, and they will eat it up more readily. Always cut grapes and cherry tomatoes lengthwise in half for young children. And do not forget the drink bottle: water is the best thirst quencher, during break time too.
