The size of the cover has to match the size of the duvet, not the bed itself. So measure your duvet first. These are the sizes in our collection:
Unsure between two sizes? A cover that is a few centimetres larger than the duvet is no problem, but a cover that is too small squeezes the duvet and will not close properly.
BimbiDreams makes the Nordic duvet cover sets in cheerful themes such as Africa, Flamingo, Jungle, Kenia, Wonderland, Zebra, Cottage, Happy Days and Happy Green. Most sets are 120 x 150 cm; Happy Days and Happy Green also come in 100 x 135 cm. They are made of cotton or organic cotton, sometimes with a little elastane or polyester, and have a 30 x 68 cm pillowcase.
Mayamoo has double-sided sets: a print on one side and a calm plain colour or small print on the other, so you can easily switch. Cotton is soft, breathable and easy to wash, which makes it the most popular fabric for a kids duvet cover. Organic cotton is grown without chemical pesticides. A blend of bamboo and cotton feels extra soft and supple. A little elastane or polyester makes the fabric stronger and less prone to creasing. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label means the fabric has been tested for harmful substances.
For a baby in the first year, a sleeping bag is the safest choice. Safe sleep advice recommends not putting a duvet, pillow or other loose items in the cot during the first year. Only use a duvet and pillow once your child is old enough, often around the move to a toddler bed. Until then, our baby sleeping bags are a safe solution. One of the Mayamoo sets comes with a cot bumper: do not use it in the cot while your baby sleeps, but as decoration in the room.
Wash a new cover before you use it. Most BimbiDreams and nuuroo sets can be washed at up to 30 degrees; the Mayamoo, Paw Patrol and My Little Pony sets at up to 40 degrees, and they can go in the tumble dryer. The Franck & Fischer cover is washed at 40 degrees, but not in the dryer. Turn the cover inside out and close the buttons or zip, so the print and fastening stay nice. Do not use bleach and always check the care label. Preferably hang the cover to dry, so it does not shrink and lasts longer.
