Looking for cute backpacks for girls? At Tiny Giggles you will find a cheerful range of girls' backpacks and school bags, from a small backpack for nursery to a roomy school bag for primary school. Choose from favourite characters such as Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty, sweet animals from Skip Hop and Lulupop & The Cutiepies, or bold designs from Milky Kiss. So there is a backpack to suit every girl.
A backpack goes along every day: to school, to childcare or on a day out. That is why it matters that it fits well, is comfortable and is strong enough to last a whole school year. When choosing a school bag for girls, look mainly at three things: the size, the carrying comfort and, of course, the design. A girl who loves her backpack will wear it with pride.
A useful rule of thumb: the backpack should be no wider than your child's back and should not hang below her hips. When packed, it should ideally weigh no more than about ten percent of her body weight. Adjustable shoulder straps let the backpack grow with her, and a loop at the top is handy for hanging it on a coat peg. Almost all the girls' backpacks in our collection have both.
Even the best girls' backpack is only comfortable when it is adjusted well. Tighten the shoulder straps so the backpack sits close to the back and the bottom hangs just above the hips. Let your daughter always wear it over both shoulders, even if one shoulder looks cooler. Put heavy items, such as a book or water bottle, as close to the back as possible, and light things in the front pocket. Does the backpack have a chest strap, like the Zip & Zoe? Then clip it shut so the straps do not slide off the shoulders. And always put a name inside, because at school there are often several identical bags on the coat pegs.
For the youngest girls, a light and compact backpack works best. The Skip Hop Zoo Pack backpacks, such as the koala, are suitable from 3 years and have an insulated snack pocket, a cup holder and a name label inside. The Zip & Zoe backpack for ages 3 to 7 weighs just 0.2 kg, has padded shoulder straps with an extra chest strap and is machine washable. The Hello Kitty backpacks, with a capacity of about 8 to 9 litres, are also suitable from 3 years.
From around the age of five, more goes along: a lunch box, a water bottle, a reading book or a folder. Choose a backpack of about 30 to 36 cm high with a main compartment and a front pocket for small items. Many Disney backpacks also have a side pocket for a water bottle. Cute favourites include the Kidzroom backpacks, such as the Cuddle Leopard and the Mini Peach.
Older girls often want a bigger backpack with a cooler look. The Milky Kiss backpacks of 39 x 29 x 12 cm have a roomy main compartment and a front pocket, in colours such as pink and mint. The Hype backpack has an 18-litre capacity and is suitable from 8 years, just like the Minnie Mouse Rocking It backpack. For Ladybug fans, there is a large Miraculous backpack with two main compartments.
Many girls would rather choose a backpack with their favourite character. In our Disney backpacks for girls collection you will find Minnie Mouse in all kinds of versions, Disney Princess and Frozen. Special ones include the Minnie Mouse 3D backpack with a light that switches on when you touch the front, and the Minnie Mouse Confetti backpack with a bubble full of confetti. A Peppa fan? Then take a look at our Peppa Pig backpacks with 3D details.
More and more backpacks are made from recycled materials. The Kidzroom Adore More backpack and the Minnie Mouse One and Only backpack are made from Waste2Wear recycled polyester, made from plastic bottles. The Disney Frozen backpack is PVC-free thanks to a TPE coating. So you can choose a cute school bag and feel good about it too. Find more designs at Kidzroom and Zip & Zoe.
With a new backpack, the start of school is nearly sorted. Fill it with a matching lunch box, a leak-proof water bottle and a colourful pencil case. A separate gym bag is handy for PE. Want to sort everything out in one go? Create your own school kit with a matching backpack, lunch box and bottle. Looking for a backpack for a brother? For toddlers and preschoolers, a backpack of about 23 to 30 cm high is ideal. For primary school, choose a backpack of 30 to 36 cm, and from about 8 years it can be bigger, up to around 43 cm. You will find the exact dimensions on every product page.
That depends on the size. An A4 folder is just over 30 cm high, so choose a backpack that is at least that big, such as the larger Milky Kiss backpacks (39 x 29 x 12 cm).
Most backpacks can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Some models, such as the Zip & Zoe backpack, are machine washable. Check the label or product page for the right care instructions.
Many backpacks are suitable from 3 years, such as those from Skip Hop, Hello Kitty and Zip & Zoe. They are light, small and easy to carry by herself.
