Hooded towels
A hooded towel is a towel with a hood in one corner. You place the hood over your baby's head and wrap the rest around your baby, so the head stays warm too. Under baby hooded towels you'll find, among others:

Wash mitts and washcloths
For a small baby, soft wash mitts and thin washcloths are lovely, because they are light and supple. Under wash mitts and washcloths you'll find:

Choosing baby bath linen

How many do you need?
With two or three hooded towels you always have a dry one, while the others are in the wash or drying. You use wash mitts often, so a few 3-packs are handy. One or two bathrobes or bath ponchos are usually enough. If you often take your child swimming, an extra poncho for the swim bag is a nice addition.
A lovely bath routine
Lay everything out before you start: the hooded towel, a wash mitt, a clean nappy and clothes. That way you don't need to walk away while your baby is in the bath. Never leave your baby alone in the bath, not even for a moment. After the bath, wrap the hooded towel around your baby with the hood over the head, and gently pat the skin dry. Don't forget the little folds in the neck, under the arms and behind the ears. A regular bath routine with a calm moment on the changing table helps many babies relax. Washing and care
Wash baby bath linen before first use, so it becomes softer and more absorbent. Muslin wash mitts can often go at 60 °C; hooded towels, bathrobes and ponchos usually at 30 or 40 °C. Always check the label. Don't use too much detergent and skip the fabric softener, so the fabric stays absorbent. Hang bath linen up after use, so it dries quickly and stays fresh.
