Cuddly toys, blocks, books and dressing-up clothes: a kids' room fills up quickly. With handy storage bins you tidy up in a few minutes, and the room instantly looks cosy. At Tiny Giggles you'll find large storage baskets with animals from 3 Sprouts and organic cotton baskets from Franck & Fischer, in a large size for toys and a small size for the changing table. Below you can read which basket suits which purpose.
3 Sprouts storage bins with animals
The 3 Sprouts storage bins are roomy baskets of 45 x 44 x 44 cm, with a cheerful felt animal on the front. There are three animals:
- Lion: in sunny yellow.
- Owl: in grey and white.
- Zebra: in black and white.
The outside is sturdy cotton canvas, which keeps the basket stable and in shape. The inside has a polyethylene coating that wipes clean easily with a damp cloth. There are handles on the side, so you can move the basket easily. Not using it for a while? Then fold it flat. Ideal for toys, books and cuddly toys, in the kids' room or the play corner in the living room.
Franck & Fischer storage baskets
The Franck & Fischer baskets are made of heavy canvas of 100% certified organic cotton, dyed with eco-friendly dyes. They have simple colours and prints with a swan or a monkey, so they suit a calm kids' room well. There are two sizes:
- Boss (H 42 x W 36 cm): a large basket with leather handles, for toys, games or laundry. In Dark Swan (dark grey), Light Monkey (blue-grey) and Light Swan (blue-grey). Also fun for playing hide and seek.
- Ida (H 23 x W 21 cm): a small basket for toiletries and to keep the changing table tidy. The rim can be folded down. Also in Dark Swan, Light Monkey and Light Swan.
Which storage bin do you choose?
- For lots of toys: a 3 Sprouts bin (45 x 44 x 44 cm) or a Franck & Fischer Boss (42 x 36 cm).
- For the changing table: a Franck & Fischer Ida for nappies, wipes, creams and a brush. More baskets for the changing table are under changing table baskets.
- For laundry: a Boss basket next to the cot, for bodysuits and bibs that need washing.
- For a cheerful room: the 3 Sprouts animals. For a calm, Scandinavian look, the Franck & Fischer swan or monkey.
Tidying up together
With storage bins, tidying up becomes a game. Give each bin a fixed job: one for cuddly toys, one for blocks and one for books. Young children can toss toys into an open bin themselves, and learn where everything belongs. Put the bins on the floor or a low shelf so your child can reach them. Children recognise a bin with an animal especially quickly: cuddly toys go with the lion, blocks with the zebra.
Safe use
Don't put baskets in or next to the cot, and don't let young children climb or play in a basket without supervision. Put heavy items at the bottom so the basket doesn't tip over. Check now and then that handles and seams are still secure.
Storage ideas by age
- Baby: in the baby phase you mainly use storage baskets for yourself. An Ida basket on the changing table with nappies and wipes, and a Boss basket for bodysuits, muslins and blankets.
- Toddler: as soon as your child starts playing, the baskets move to the floor. A large 3 Sprouts bin is ideal for cuddly toys and big toys.
- Preschooler: now your child really helps tidy up. Use several bins, each with its own kind of toy, such as dressing-up clothes, cars or dolls.
Handy in the bathroom too
Storage baskets aren't just for the kids' room. A Franck & Fischer Ida basket keeps bath toys, creams and a brush together in the bathroom, and a larger basket is handy for towels and hooded towels. That way everything is within reach at bath time. Also see the bathroom and baby care collections.
Atmosphere in the room
Baskets of natural cotton give a room a warm, calm look straight away. Combine several baskets in the same shade, such as the blue-grey Light Swan and Light Monkey from Franck & Fischer, or choose one eye-catching 3 Sprouts lion as a cheerful accent in an otherwise calm room.
Care
Clean the outside of the 3 Sprouts and Franck & Fischer baskets on the surface only: dab marks away with a damp cloth. The inside of the 3 Sprouts bins has a coating that wipes clean easily. Let a basket dry well after cleaning before filling it again.
More for the kids' room
Storage baskets are one of the easiest ways to make a kids' room cosy and tidy. Combine them with a nice play mat, soft cuddly toys or a night light. Inspiration is under kids' room, and everything for the home under home. Toys to store are under toys.
A practical baby gift
A storage basket is a gift parents enjoy for years. Fill a Franck & Fischer Ida basket with care products or a Boss basket with cuddly toys and a baby blanket, and you have a complete, beautifully packed baby gift. More ideas are under gifts.
Tip: hang a card with a picture of the contents on the basket, such as a photo of blocks or a cuddly toy. That way even a young child who can't read yet knows exactly where everything goes.
