For more than 60 years, Sophie the Giraffe has been the first friend of babies all over the world. The well-known little giraffe made of 100% natural rubber from France stimulates the senses and is lovely to chew on when the first teeth come through. At Tiny Giggles you will find a gift set with Sophie, an activity spiral for the pushchair, a comforter and cheerful silicone kids' cutlery and children's plates.
Sophie comes from France and has been a star with curious babies for generations. She is made of 100% natural rubber and has a coat with contrasting spots, a squeaker and long legs. Thanks to paint that is suitable for contact with food, your baby can safely chew on Sophie. That soothes sensitive gums when the teeth are coming through. Teether, cuddly toy and first toy in one: Sophie takes on every role. No wonder many parents played with a Sophie themselves.
Sophie is designed to stimulate your baby's five senses. Your baby sees the dark spots on a light background, a contrast young babies love to look at. Your baby hears the squeak when they squeeze Sophie. Your baby feels the soft rubber and the different shapes: the legs, ears and horns are easy to hold. Your baby tastes and chews on the legs and head. And your baby smells the natural scent of the rubber. That way your little one discovers the world through play.
The Sophiesticated gift set is the perfect way to welcome a baby. A beautiful gift box of about 22.5 x 21.5 x 6 cm contains Sophie the Giraffe and the So Pure Colo'Rings, a teething ring made of natural rubber. It also comes with a Sophie greeting card and a gift bag with silk ribbons. Suitable from birth and a lovely newborn gift.
The activity spiral is made entirely of fabric and is full of discoveries: a ball with a bell, a teething ring, a squeaker in the star, crinkle paper in Sophie and a little mirror. The spiral can be fully stretched out and wraps around the bar of the pushchair or the edge of the cot. You attach it with two hook-and-loop fastenings, and the length is adjustable from 20 to 80 cm. Suitable from 3 months.
The comforter of about 30 x 30 cm is made of organic cotton in soft colours. Your baby easily grabs it by Sophie's head or legs and the knots in the corners. It has a cord with a hook-and-loop fastening for the dummy, and it comes with a storage pouch. It is machine washable at 30 degrees.
For mealtimes there is the silicone cutlery set with fork, spoon and knife, in Pastel or Neon. The cutlery is made of 100% LFGB food-safe silicone and food-grade stainless steel, with rounded fork tines and a rounded knife edge. It can go in the dishwasher and the steriliser. The silicone spoons (2 pieces, red and blue) are soft and flexible, about 22.4 cm long and suitable from 4 months. The silicone plates with Sophie in blue or green are suitable from 6 months, dishwasher safe and suitable for the microwave and oven up to 220 °C.
When your baby starts on solid food, the soft silicone spoons help the first bites go calmly. A flexible spoon is kind to the sensitive mouth and gums. Later your little one wants to learn to eat on their own, and that is where the cutlery set comes in: the rounded fork tines and the knife with its rounded edge are made for small mouths. With Sophie on the plate, every meal becomes a little more fun. Add a bib, and above all let your little one explore: mess is part of it.
Check Sophie and the teething ring regularly. If you see cracks or wear, replace the toy. To clean Sophie, follow the instructions on the packaging; a damp cloth is often enough. Always let your baby play under supervision, including with the activity spiral on the pushchair. The cord on the comforter is meant for daytime: don't use cords in the cot and keep them away from your baby's neck. The silicone cutlery and plates can go in the dishwasher.
When the first teeth come through, your baby wants to chew on everything. Sophie is a great help then: the legs and horns are just right for chewing, and the soft rubber gives a little. The So Pure Colo'Rings from the gift set is also made for biting. You will find more teethers among our teethers and teething toys.
Sophie is one of the best-loved newborn gifts. She is timeless, recognisable and often kept for years as a treasured memento. The Sophiesticated gift set is already beautifully packaged, with a greeting card and gift bag. Want to give more? Combine the set with the comforter or a cutlery set, or create your own gift box. You will find more ideas under gifts.
Also take a look at our rattles, music boxes and comforters. For mealtimes you will find everything under mealtime, and all our toys are in one place.
