Zip & Zoe: with ice pack
The two Zip & Zoe lunchies are the most complete. The double-zip main compartment is fully insulated, and inside there's a mesh pocket for the matching ice pack. The ice pack is filled with food-safe gel and is free of PVC and BPA. Put it in the freezer and pop it in the bag in the morning. On the side there's an elastic mesh pocket that keeps a bottle upright. The handle attaches easily to a pushchair, and you write your daughter's name on the name tag. The fabric is water-repellent inside and out.
Skip Hop: clips onto the backpack

The owl lunch bag from the Canadian brand 3 Sprouts is the largest in this collection. A sandwich box, an apple and a juice box fit in the main compartment, and the bottle goes in the side pocket. Handy for children who take a hearty lunch.
Sass & Belle: narwhal in icy shades
The Alma Narwhal lunch bag from Sass & Belle features a cheerful narwhal in ice aqua and icy blue. The zipped compartment is insulated, and at 8 cm deep the bag is nice and flat.

Using an ice pack
An ice pack works best when it has spent a whole night in the freezer. Place it on top of or next to the lunch so the cold spreads well. No ice pack at home? A bottle of water that has spent the night in the freezer works too, and will have thawed by lunchtime.
Name in the bag

Care
Empty the bag after every school day and let it dry open. Most bags can be wiped clean with a damp cloth; with Zip & Zoe, let the bag air-dry afterwards. Has something leaked? Clean it straight away so no smells develop.
