With a good bottle brush you clean baby bottles, teats, straws and cups quickly and thoroughly. At Tiny Giggles you will find bottle brushes and complete brush sets by Babyono, Tigex and b.box. That way you remove milk residue even from the trickiest corners, and your little one's bottles stay fresh and clean.
Milk leaves a greasy film in a bottle, and residue easily stays behind in the base, the thread and the teat. An ordinary washing-up brush cannot reach those places properly. A bottle brush is long and narrow, so you can reach right down to the bottom of the bottle. The soft bristles do not damage the bottle, and with a small teat brush you can also clean the inside of the teat. That way no milk residue is left behind for bacteria to grow in.
The Babyono sets contain a bottle brush and a small teat brush. The black set has a bottle brush of 33 cm long and 6 cm wide, a 10.5 cm brush for teats and small parts and a narrow 26.5 cm cleaning rod for straws. The blue and grey sets have a sponge for cleaning teats, replaceable brush heads and comfortable handles. They are BPA-free and can be hung up to dry.
The Tigex bottle brush has a flexible head that bends 360°, so you can also reach the corners and shoulder of the bottle. The ergonomic handle is comfortable to hold, even when washing several bottles in a row.
The b.box Cleaning Brush Set is made especially for cups and drink bottles with a straw. The set contains a straw brush for the b.box Sippy Cup, a brush for Tritan and insulated drink bottles, a fine pointed brush for valves and small holes, a teat brush and a general cleaning brush. Handy for parents with a baby and a toddler.
Sterilise new bottles and teats before first use. How often to sterilise after that depends on your situation; follow the advice of your health visitor or baby clinic.
You can brush glass bottles firmly without scratching them, and you can easily see whether they are completely clean. Plastic bottles are lighter but scratch more easily. For plastic, preferably use a brush with soft bristles or a sponge, like the Babyono sets. If you do see scratches or cloudy patches in a plastic bottle, it is time for a new one, as milk residue sticks in scratches more easily. Silicone teats become thinner or sticky over time; replace them if they have cracks or change shape.
Wash several bottles at once in a separate bowl of hot soapy water, so they are all done in one go. Work from clean to dirty: first the bottles, then the teats and finally the cups and straws. Then put everything on the drying rack and only put it away once it is completely dry. That way the bottle routine takes just a few minutes a day.
A bottle brush needs to stay clean too. Rinse the brush well after each use and let it dry, preferably hanging. Use it only for baby items and not for pans. Replace the brush or brush head as soon as the bristles start to spread or discolour, every few months or so.
A bottle brush set is also handy for everything else your child uses at the table and on the go:
Milk or juice easily stays behind in straws and valves. With a narrow straw brush or the fine brush from the b.box set, you clean them in seconds.
Preferably wash bottles straight away, or put them in a bowl of water if you do not have time right then. That way nothing dries on. Keep a fixed set of brushes next to the sink, separate from the ordinary washing-up brush. On holiday, take a small set in a pouch, together with a small bottle of washing-up liquid. And if you use a pacifier clip, wash it regularly too, as milk and saliva get on it as well.
A bottle brush set may not be the most exciting gift, but every parent uses it every day. Combine a set with a drying rack or cup for a practical baby gift. Our wrapping service still makes it festive. You will find more for your little one's meals under mealtime.
Replace the brush or head as soon as the bristles spread or discolour, usually after a few months.
Yes, a small teat brush cleans the inside of the teat and the thread properly. Our Babyono and b.box sets include one.
Choose a set with a narrow straw brush, such as the Babyono set with cleaning rod or the b.box Cleaning Brush Set.
