From the first sips from a spout cup to drinking from an open cup on their own: a good kids cup grows with every step. At Tiny Giggles you will find training cups, straw cups and silicone cups by b.box, nuuroo, Minikoioi and Skip Hop, plus handy extras such as silicone lids, straws and a strap to attach the cup to the pram.
Drinking from a cup is something your child has to learn. A bottle is familiar, but from around six months you can let your baby practise with a cup. It is good for oral motor skills, and it makes your child more independent. A special kids cup makes it easier: the handles are big enough for small hands, many cups have a valve against leaks, and your child drinks at their own pace.
The b.box Spout Cup has an ergonomically shaped silicone spout, a built-in cover that keeps the spout clean and handles that are easy to grip. Thanks to the valve, the cup does not leak, while your child drinks from it easily. It holds 240 ml and comes in Blueberry, Grape, Lemon and Raspberry.
Want every stage in one go? The b.box Transition Value Pack includes one cup with four lids: a teat lid and a spout lid from 4 months, a straw lid from 6 months and a training lid from 12 months. Simply swap the lid as your baby grows.
The b.box Sippy Cup is a straw cup with a clever straw. The straw is weighted and moves with the liquid, so your child can drink whatever angle the cup is held at. The cup has an easy flip-top lid, handles and a two-way valve against leaks. You can use it with warm water. It comes in lots of colours, such as Apple, Blueberry, Raspberry and Watermelon, the cheerful Gelato colours, two Hello Kitty versions and even a Glow In The Dark version whose lid glows for up to an hour in the dark.
The Skip Hop Zoo Tumbler Cups are a set of two cups with a butterfly and a llama. They have removable flip-top lids, and as your toddler grows, you simply use the cup without the lid.
Silicone cups are soft, light and unbreakable. They are great for letting your child practise with an open cup:
Always use a strap under supervision and make sure it cannot reach your child's neck.
First look at the age: a spout cup for the early months, a straw cup from 6 months and a training cup or open cup for toddlers. Also look at the handles, a valve against leaks and whether the kids cup is dishwasher-safe. Cups that share the same base, such as those by b.box, can grow with your child by simply swapping the lid.
Most b.box cups can go in the dishwasher, the Sippy Cup in the top rack only. The Spout Cup's spout can go in a steam steriliser. The Sippy Cup is not microwave-safe, the nuuroo and Minikoioi silicone cups are. Wash the Minikoioi Mini Cup by hand in warm soapy water. Take straws and valves apart regularly and clean them well. A bottle brush helps with that, and a drying rack lets everything dry properly.
Complete the meal with children's plates, a kids dinnerware set and kids cutlery. A bib and a placemat catch the first spills. On the go, our water bottles are handy. You will find everything for mealtimes under mealtime.
You can start practising from around 4 to 6 months, for example with a spout cup or the Minikoioi Mini Cup. A straw cup such as the b.box Sippy Cup is suitable from 6 months.
The Sippy Cup has a flip-top lid and a two-way valve against leaks. Close the lid when you put it in your bag.
You can use warm water in the b.box Sippy Cup. Always check the temperature before your child drinks.
