Kids water bottles

Looking for a great kids water bottle? At Tiny Giggles you will find water bottles for children by b.box, Quokka, Carl Oscar, Zip & Zoe, Lässig and more. Light Tritan bottles with a straw, insulated stainless steel bottles that keep water cold for hours and cheerful bottles with animals and prints. Ideal for school, sports, outdoor play and travel.

Why a kids water bottle of their own?

Children often forget to drink when they are busy playing or learning. A water bottle of their own that they love helps: they reach for it more often and drink more water. Water is the best thirst quencher for children, and with a reusable bottle you no longer need to pack cartons or plastic bottles. That saves waste and money. Plus, you know exactly how much your child has drunk when the bottle comes home in the afternoon.

What types of kids water bottles are there?

Light Tritan water bottles

Tritan is a strong, light and transparent BPA-free material. A Tritan water bottle is ideal for young children because it is not heavy and can take a knock. Examples from our collection:

• Carl Oscar drink bottle 350 ml: a small bottle with a cheerful animal, such as a spider, monkey, cow, moose or giraffe.
• Quokka Ice Kids 430 ml: with prints such as Birds, Cactus and Sea Animals.
• b.box Tritan drink bottle 450 and 600 ml: with a triangular shape that fits small hands and a lid that opens at the press of a button.
• Lässig Tritan drink bottle 550 ml: with a straw, from 3 years and dishwasher safe.
• Prêt 456 ml and Petit Monkey 400 ml: compact bottles for a small backpack.

Insulated stainless steel water bottles

Want the water to stay cold for a long time? A double-walled stainless steel bottle keeps drinks at temperature for hours. The 500 ml b.box insulated drink bottle keeps drinks cold for up to 15 hours, the Quokka Solid up to 18 hours. The 500 ml Carl Oscar stainless steel water bottle is completely leak-proof and features fun animals such as a camel, panda or dolphin. You will find more insulated bottles among our thermos bottles.

Water bottle with a straw or spout

For younger children, a water bottle with a straw or spout is easiest. They do not need to tilt the bottle and fewer things go wrong. The Zip & Zoe drink bottles have a silicone straw, a flip lid that prevents leaks and a handy strap. The 350 ml 3 Sprouts drink bottle has a soft spout. Also take a look at our bottles with straw, such as the Zoo bottles by Skip Hop, and at separate straws.

Which size water bottle suits your child?

• Toddlers (1 to 3 years): a 350 to 400 ml bottle is light enough to hold on their own.
• Preschoolers (4 to 6 years): 400 to 500 ml fits well in a small backpack and is enough for a morning at school.
• School children (from 6 years): 500 to 600 ml, or a larger bottle for long days, sports and days out.

Remember that a full bottle is heavier than an empty one. For a young child, choose a smaller bottle that you refill in between. At nursery or school there is often a tap where your child can fill the bottle themselves; ask the teacher how this works at your school.

What to look for in a kids water bottle

• Leak-proof: a tight-fitting cap or a valve prevents wet books in the school bag.
• Easy to open: choose a cap your child can open and close on their own.
• Cleaning: a wide opening and parts that come apart make cleaning easy. Some bottles are dishwasher safe, such as b.box and Zip & Zoe; wash Quokka by hand.
• Safe material: choose a BPA-free bottle; each product page shows what the bottle is made of.
• A fun design: your child will reach for a bottle with their favourite animal or colour more often.

Tips to help your child drink more water

1. Give them their own bottle and agree that it may be empty when they come home.
2. Put the bottle in a fixed place in sight, for example on the desk or next to the toys.
3. Make it fun with a few ice cubes or a slice of cucumber or lemon in the water.
4. Set a good example: drink water from your own bottle too.
5. Refill the bottle after sports and on hot days, when your child needs more.

Cleaning a water bottle

Rinse the water bottle every day and let it dry open. Wash it thoroughly in warm water with a little washing-up liquid at least a few times a week. Take the straw and cap apart, and use a straw or bottle brush for the tricky spots. Has there been juice or milk in it? Rinse the bottle the same day. Insulated stainless steel bottles are best not used for acidic drinks, and most cannot go in the microwave or the freezer.

Water bottles for boys and girls

Looking for a bottle in a particular style? Take a look at our water bottles for girls with pink, lilac and floral prints, or our water bottles for boys with cool animals, space themes and bright colours. Of course every child can simply choose the one they like best.

Ready for school

A water bottle belongs in every school bag, together with a lunch box. Many brands, such as b.box and Quokka, make bottles and lunch boxes in the same colours, so your child has a recognisable set. You will find more drinking bottles, also for babies and toddlers, in our bottles collection. A water bottle also makes a fun and useful gift, for example for the first day of school; our wrapping service makes it look festive.
