Choosing a newborn gift

A newborn gift is given when a baby is born, often when you visit the new family. A good baby present is lovely to give and practical to use. A few popular baby gift ideas:

• Practical: bibs, wash mitts and cloths, a hooded towel or muslin cloths. New parents use them every day, and you can never have too many.
• To cuddle: a cuddly toy or comforter often becomes the baby's very first friend.
• To keep: a baby blanket or a decorative cushion for the nursery lasts for years.
• To wear: a newborn bodysuit (0 to 1 month) in 100% cotton, in a soft colour.

Not sure? Choose something in a calm, neutral colour, or combine a few small gifts in a gift box. A gift for a second baby can also include something for the big brother or sister, so nobody feels left out.

Gifts for a baby shower or pregnancy

Baby gifts are also a great choice for a baby shower or a pregnancy. Parents-to-be are often happy with things they can use straight after the birth, such as muslin cloths, a hooded towel, wash mitts or a first cuddly toy. Do not know if it is a boy or a girl yet? Then choose neutral colours such as white, grey, beige or soft green. With a gift box you put together yourself, a few small presents become one festive gift, perfect for unwrapping at the baby shower.

Sending a baby gift

Cannot visit the new family, or live far away? Then have the baby gift sent instead. Have it gift-wrapped, add a card with a personal message and enter the new parents' address as the delivery address when you order. That way they receive a beautifully wrapped present, and you know it arrives on time.

Create your own baby gift box

Want a newborn gift that is truly personal? Create your own gift box. Choose a cheerful XL gift box in the colour you like, such as Playful Pink, Bubbly Blue, Sunny Yellow or Popping Purple, and fill it with your favourite products: for example a cuddly toy, a bib, wash mitts and a bodysuit. There are also ready-made gift boxes with a Jollein cuddly toy, such as the giraffe, Joey the rabbit or the llama. For inspiration, browse the gift boxes for girls and boys in the create-a-gift-box collection.

That way you give a gift that looks festive and that the parents will really use. A gift box you put together yourself also makes a lovely present for a baby shower or a pregnancy.

Gifts for a first birthday or a toddler

You will also find lovely gifts for a first birthday or a toddler at Tiny Giggles. Sippy cups and drink bottles are popular, as are long-sleeve bibs for the first solid foods, a children's dinnerware set or a soft toy. Older children are delighted with their own little backpack, a lunch box or a cuddly toy of their favourite character. So the present grows with the child's interests.
