When your baby is teething, there can be quite a lot of dribble. Drool and bandana bibs catch it, so clothes stay dry and you don't have to keep changing them. They come in two types: the bandana bib, a triangular bib that looks like a cool little neckerchief, and the classic drool bib with a waterproof back. At Tiny Giggles you will find them from Cheeky Chompers, Cambrass, Cam Cam Copenhagen, BimbiDreams, Meyco, Jollein and Lässig.
Many babies start drooling a lot from a few months old, and it can carry on for as long as the teeth are coming through. A wet bodysuit or top feels cold and clammy, and changing again and again is no fun for anyone. A drool bib catches the saliva before it reaches the clothes. Because your baby can wear it all day, it is made to be comfortable and good-looking, not just to protect during meals. You will find bibs for mealtimes in our bibs for eating, with or without sleeves.
A bandana bib is shaped like a triangular neckerchief and looks really stylish. It closes with press studs at the neck that you can fasten at different lengths, so it grows with your baby.
A drool bib is a small, round bib that your baby can wear all day. The BimbiDreams bibs are about 20 x 25 cm, with a front of organic cotton and elastane and a waterproof back. They come in a set of 2, in the same themes as the rest of BimbiDreams, such as Cottage, Happy Days, Kenya and Wonderland, and are washable at 30°C. The Cam Cam Copenhagen muslin bibs are made of soft, GOTS certified organic cotton and close with press studs at 2 lengths. Choose from colours such as Blush, Grey and Mustard and prints such as Fleur and Pressed Leaves. You will also find bibs from Meyco, in 100% cotton, and from Lässig, with a waterproof inner layer.
Place the bandana with the point downwards on your baby's chest, bring the two ends round to the back and fasten the press studs at the neck. Choose the setting where you can just slide a finger between the bib and the neck: not too tight, but not so loose that it slides over the chin. Because the studs are at the back, your baby can't easily pull at them. If the bandana gets wet, swap it for a dry one, so the skin in the folds of the neck doesn't get irritated.
A bandana bib is also a fun accessory with an outfit. Choose a plain bandana with a printed bodysuit, or a cheerful print with plain clothes. Many sets contain two or three different designs that go well together, so you can alternate. The reversible Neckerbibs even have a different colour on each side.
Teething often comes with lots of drool and the urge to chew on everything. A bandana bib with a teether, like the Neckerchew, combines both: the bib catches the drool and your baby always has something to chew on. Also take a look at our bibs with teethers and separate teethers and teething toys.
Always take a bib off before your baby goes to sleep, including for naps and in the pram or car seat. Don't leave your baby unsupervised with a bib or teether. Check regularly that the press studs are secure and that the fabric and teether are still intact. Replace a damaged bib.
Drool bibs are changed often, so it's handy to have a few. Always follow the care instructions: most are washable at 30 or 40°C, the Jollein bandanas at 60°C. Wash new bibs before first use and let them dry well before putting them on again. With a set of 2 or 3 you always have a dry one to hand.
A set of bandana bibs is a practical and fun baby gift, because almost every baby drools. Also take a look at the bibs gift box or all our gifts. We are happy to gift-wrap your present.
A bandana bib is triangular and worn like a neckerchief against drool. A bib for eating is larger and protects against mess during meals.
Most drool and bandana bibs are suitable from birth; some sets from 6 months.
No, take the bib off before your baby goes to sleep.
