Which mealtime bibs are there?

Tips for less mess
Mess is part of learning to eat, and that's a good thing: it's how your baby discovers how food feels, smells and tastes. A few tricks keep the damage limited. Put a wipeable mat or old towel under the high chair. Give small portions, so less ends up on the floor. Choose a plate with a suction base or compartments, and a cup with two handles. And put the bib on before you start, so the catch pocket sits nicely under the chin. After the meal, wipe hands and mouth with a damp cloth and everything is tidy again.
Cleaning
Rinse silicone bibs under the tap with a little soap. The Skip Hop Fold & Go can also go in the dishwasher. Wipe coated and EVA bibs with a damp cloth. Wash cotton and terry bibs in the washing machine, following the label. Let bibs dry well after washing before storing them.
Using them safely
Only use a bib during meals and when you are there, and take it off before your baby goes to sleep. Adjust the neckband so the bib is neither too tight nor too loose. Always let your baby eat sitting upright in the high chair and stay with them during the meal.
How many do you need?
You usually only need one or two silicone bibs, because you rinse them straight after eating. For fabric bibs, a supply of four to six is handy, so there's always a clean one ready while the others are in the wash. Also keep one in the changing bag for eating out, for example at grandma and grandpa's or in a restaurant. That way you always have a clean mealtime bib to hand.
